NAKED STORM ALBUM
My first album was recorded via the lovely Sellaband community. They were wonderful and I believe we created magic together, but Sellaband the company were inept and full of empty promises. They did no promotion (or stand behind their so-called advice and expertise) for any of their artists and were content just to live off their cut of any money raised.
I am now free of Sellaband (they went bankrupt in late February 2010). I am free and naked. I want to record another album, and with your help, it will happen. Now I will record a truthful and naked (my term for full honesty/truth) album collection, “NAKED STORM”.
The little fund-raising widget on the left is where I am collecting funds for this new album to see the light of day.
Chipin.com uses paypal so it also accepts cards. We (as it involves all of us in this together to create music) have a chipin page here: http://nakedstorm.chipin.com
If you become a part of this project, you won’t be forgotten. I will keep you informed as to what is happening (good and bad).
You will hear and see the work that is going into the preparations for the recording, the artwork and everything else.
When the album is finished, you will be the first to get the highest qualitymp3’s or flac’s. For every $30 one person donates, I will post them a signed cd (so if you donate $90 you will receive 3 signed cd’s,etc). All of your names will be included in the cd booklet. If you donate a large amount I will sort out something extra special for you.
All the costs of the album will be documented, so that you know exactly what went where. There will be a special secret section on my website where I will put audio and video and pictures of the progress for you. I will always be in communication with you.
My plans for this album are:-
choose 10 good songs (less if we don’t hit the target… in that case it would bean EP). I am collaborating with some great artists across the world on some songs (including a Bear in America
).
-choose the musicians. Change of plan here than first arranged. I will be using the expertise and genius of Phil Curran (producer... and the list goes on, in the U.K that I used to work with), and will be working with some musicians across the globe as well.
- choose a recording studio, mainly for vocals. I may change the original producer I thought of and work with another one that I knew many years ago. Will see and let you know.
- choose a mastering facility. To be done.
- design the artwork. To be done.
-choose a manufacturing facility for the cd’s. To be done.
Some of the album recording process will be filmed, so a music video can be made with some of footage. When the album is completed, I will ask you whether you think there are a couple of stand-out songs which could be made into a professional music video. We will probably have to raise a further $3000 to make it a really good one and hire a publicist to promote it and the album.
There you go. Money and fame would be nice, but all I want & need, is to create and release the music that comes from the soul. I hope you would like to be on this project with me.
